Dance: Cha Cha Slide aka Casper Slide Song: Cha Cha Slide Part II (Radio Edit) Artist: Casper Album: -- Choreography & copyright: Mr C (Casper) Level: Beginner Walls: 4 Count: basic wall is 24 counts Bridge/restart: almost every wall has extra steps Dance Beat: 120 b/m Start: Feet together, weight on right foot There is not an "official" dancesheet for this dance - the steps are given in the dance (as with "The Time Warp" etc). The dance basically consists of a left vine, a back vine, followed by one or more hops forward, two or more stomps, a jazz-box and ends with a 1/4 turn left and a vine right. However, the number of hops, stomps and jazz boxes varies from wall to wall, plus there are additional step sequences that appear on some walls (claps, jumps, slides etc). The singer is evidently not a linedancer and uses some terms in the song differently to how they are used normally in linedancing. In the step sheet below I have included both Casper's description of the steps (so you will know when to do the various sequences) and also the correct terminology (so you'll know what to do - f'instance, don't do a "cha cha" when he says to "cha cha"!). Note that the holds on counts 10-12, 14 & 16 are not mentioned in the song, however there are pauses before he calls the next steps. * "To the left now" - vine left with a touch: 1- 4 Step LEFT to LEFT side, cross RIGHT behind LEFT, step LEFT to LEFT side, touch RIGHT beside LEFT, * "Take it back now" - vine back with a touch: 5- 8 Step RIGHT back, step LEFT back, step RIGHT back, touch LEFT beside RIGHT, [Options: Do a rolling turn, a mashed potato or something funky] * "One Hop this time" - hop forward, holds: [song may call extra hops] 9 Hop forward on both feet, [Option: Scoot forward on RIGHT & hitch LEFT, stepping onto LEFT on count 10] 10-12 Hold for 3 counts [Option: heel bounces] * "Right foot lets stomp" - stomp, hold: [song may call extra stomps] 13-14 Stomp RIGHT foot forward (weight onto RIGHT), hold, * "Left foot let's stomp" - stomp, hold: [song may call extra stomps] 15-16 Stomp LEFT foot forward (weight onto LEFT), hold, * "Now Cha cha" - jazz box: [song may call extra "cha cha"s] 17-20 Cross RIGHT over LEFT, step LEFT back, step RIGHT to RIGHT side, step LEFT forward, [Options: mambo rocks or anything else that fits, weight must end on the LEFT foot] * "Turn it Out" or "Let's go to work" - 1/4 turn & vine right: 21-24 Make 1/4 turn LEFT & step RIGHT to RIGHT side, cross LEFT behind RIGHT, step RIGHT to RIGHT side, touch LEFT beside RIGHT.
